Picking Up: June 2008

our past weekend

Well we had finally got the last leg completed of our replacement air conditioning unit. First we replaced the upstairs inside unit furnace and all. Then the hubby pipe in new cooper tubing for the new outside unit. Two cooper tubes, one smaller than the other wrapped together with black rubber foamy tubing and duct taped together every so many feet piped in from the outside 1st floor in through the chimney to the attic second story - that was a job. Then we had the AC man come out and replace the outside unit - and monster of a unit it is. Suppose to save us money - will see.
But that wasn't the fun part - after the AC man left when it started getting a bit dark inside the house and more and more things were getting turned on the break box blew and blew well it did.
BANG! Thank goodness the hubby is handy. by 6pm the next day we were back up and running. He replaced the whole thing.

My Hubby is the middle one. His brother Darryl is on the left and his other brother Darryl is on the right. No, No, it's Kevin (trying to make a small joke there). So, it's been 5 years already?

The boy turned 18 yesterday and the Marines are calling

I did not make these cakes they were make for him by a friend of his. I made a chocolate cake with strawberry icing all from scratch.

So he turned 18, got his arm piercing re-done as his father had him take it out a few years ago, bought a pack of cigs (just great) and has been getting calls from the recruiting office of our local Marines (oh joy) thank goodness he hasn't been answering them.

18 years ago I gave birth to a baby boy - goodness me. That was a long time ago and so much has changed since then said the grandma from her rocker.
